Solutions for displacement become a humanitarian priority, with major events taking place that will influence a common narrative both for humanitarian and development organizations. The IASC has made a strong commitment to tackle this issue in 2016 and 2017 through its Priority: Responding to Displacement and Enhancing Protection Outcomes. The IASC Reference Group on Protracted Displacement, and the promotion and implementation of the IASC Framework on Durable Solutions are essential elements of this priority. Likewise, a Preliminary Operational Guide on Durable Solutions developed in the framework of the Secretary-General’s Decision on Durable Solutions for displacement, and a set of Durable Solutions Indicators to inform responses aim at supporting the IASC priority.
