Deputies Forum

The Deputies Forum is a platform for dialogue and information sharing on strategic issues of common interest.

It is composed of representatives at the level of the Assistant Secretary-General (ASG) or equivalent. They are chaired by the Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator (DERC), Ms. Ursula Muller, and they meet on an ad hoc basis.

Responsibilities include:

  • supports progressing key issues which have been endorsed by the Principals and works to resolve potential bottlenecks.
  • serves as a platform for strategic dialogue on issues and processes that have an impact on humanitarian action as well as a critical link with other key forums
  • ensure strategic dialogue with key non-IASC stakeholders, including affected governments, regional bodies, donors, among others.

The Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator (DERC) Ursula Mueller welcomed the IASC Deputies to their fifth IASC Deputies Forum, which was also their first meeting after the new IASC structural reform.
