IASC Briefing: Pushing forward on women’s rights in humanitarian settings

This briefing will highlight how the erosion of women’s rights is intertwined with the rise of authoritarianism, conflict, and violent extremism worldwide. The event will galvanize action to ‘push forward for rights, equality and justice.’ The push forward strategy seeks to create momentum by amplifying practices that have impact at the community and country level by both rights holders and duty bearers. Building on the advocacy from women’s rights organizations and emphasizing multi-stakeholder alliances, inclusive dialogue and solidarity, speakers will provide an examples from the field of what humanitarians are doing to push forward.
