COVID-19 is a global health crisis, an information crisis and increasingly a wider socio-economic crisis. Over the past decade, the West Africa Ebola outbreak and many emergencies from natural disasters to complex humanitarian crises, have shown the critical need to engage communities from the very beginning.
IASC Results Group 2 (RG2) on Accountability and Inclusion provides response-wide guidance, tools, and technical support. The Results Group supports humanitarian leaders and responders to improve effectiveness and outcomes through collective approaches to accountability and inclusion in overall response efforts.
Chaired by UNHCR and UNICEF and reporting to the IASC Operational Policy and Advocacy Group (OPAG), the Results Group (RG) is comprised of local NGOs, International NGOs, the UN, Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and others.
This note lays out the agreed Priority Areas of Work for the IASC Results Groups covering the 2020.
The IASC Results Groups have been encouraged to be concrete in their deliverables, to focus on activities that will have the most impact on field effectiveness, will support IASC Principals’ with their decisions and/or advocacy efforts, promise the highest return for investment, and are inclusive; ensuring systematic engagement with key relevant IASC and non-IASC inter-agency structures.
This report outlines the status of, and progress towards, the concrete deliverables under the priority areas of work for Results Group 2 as agreed by the OPAG for 2019.
