Humanitarian Leadership Strengthening Section (HLSS) Team
The Humanitarian Leadership Strengthening Section (HLSS) works on behalf of the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) to strengthen the humanitarian coordination leadership function.
The Humanitarian Leadership Strengthening Section (HLSS) serves as the primary advisor to the Emergency Relief Coordinator on issues related to humanitarian leadership. Throughout its programs, HLSS supports field leaders and promotes and champions strong collective leadership of HCs and HCTs as a way to improve coordination, enhance reach and efficiency of humanitarian operations, and strengthen mutual accountability.
Recognizing that in a changing world and evolving humanitarian landscape, it is more important than ever to build strong partnerships based on mutual respect, trust and confidence, HLSS promotes leadership that enables humanitarian partners to collectively do more for the people we serve by working together to strengthen humanitarian effectiveness.
