IASC Standards for Collective Feedback Mechanisms
The IASC Standards for Collective Feedback Mechanisms (CFM) provide a comprehensive framework for the collective management of community feedback in humanitarian settings. Informed by many years of consultation and experimentation in the field, these standards aim to support diverse actors in their efforts to unify approaches to gathering, analyzing, and acting on community feedback to strengthen Accountability to Affected People (AAP).
The Standards are complemented by four annexes that provide actionable tools and resources for implementation:
1. Template Logbook:
A standardized format for recording community feedback, ensuring consistency in documentation. The logbook includes the necessary fields and taxonomies for categorizing feedback, tracking the status of individual feedback tickets, and facilitating trend analysis to inform programmatic adjustment.
Note: the Template Logbook is accompanied by how-to-use guidance that can be found in the main Standards document.
2. Example Analytical Framework:
An example framework to analyze trends in community feedback. This annex guides users in identifying recurring themes, prioritizing key issues, and drawing actionable insights that can inform response strategies and program adjustments.
3. Template Action Tracker:
A practical tool for monitoring and documenting the collective actions taken in response to feedback. The tracker ensures accountability by capturing the status of actions, timelines, responsible actors, and outcomes with respect to persistent issues raised and/or trends identified through community feedback.
4. Glossary:
A comprehensive glossary of terms that can be used to establish a shared vocabulary for inter-agency collaboration around community feedback management.
