Request GenCap Support
The IASC GenCap project deploys Senior Gender Advisers (SGAs) to support humanitarian leadership at the country, regional and global levels. To request support, an Expression of Interest form is required (for country operations): EoI GenCap.
The project management team assesses each Expression of Interest request according to set criteria and available resources. If the assessment is positive, GenCap engages with the country operation to review objectives and draft a road map (action plan) outlining the collective priorities of the Humanitarian Country Team under the leadership of the Humanitarian Coordinator.
The road map outlines the priorities and processes with regard to the meaningful incorporation of gender equality and empowerment of women and girls with GenCap support and is accompanied by a deployment plan indicating the skill sets required and time frame for GenCap engagement, which can last for up to two to three years, depending on the needs of the operation.
GenCap covers the costs of the SGA salary, allowances, insurance, and travel to the duty station. Local costs related to internal travel by the SGA within the duty station, office space and similar expenses are covered by country operations.
