Follow-up to the ‘reducing humanitarian financing gap’ side-event

Published Date

On the third day of the Grand Bargain Annual Meeting the Netherlands hosted a side-event on the other two recommendations of the High-level Panel on Humanitarian Financing in 2016, namely shrinking humanitarian needs and widening the resource base. Building on the recommendations of the ODI report commissioned in light of this side-event, new EP Jan Egeland shared his views on how to address the humanitarian financing gap and a multi-sector panel discussed concrete lessons learned and best practices from their experiences. The Netherlands is working with partners to develop a lean roadmap to better align objectives of existing and new initiatives, to improve communication between different fora, and to informally keep track of the progress towards the Annual Meetings in 2022 and 2023.
