On Tuesday 27th February 2023, the Annual Meeting of the Yemeni Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) took place virtually.

The Yemeni Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) shared with us the following summary: 

"The Yemeni Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) discussed the progress and achievements of their localisation initiative in Yemen. The meeting was organised and prepared by AbdulQawi Hajeb from Tamdeen Youth Foundation and Muna Al Hammadi from Nabed Development Foundation.

AbdulQawi Hajeb, the Localisation Program Manager at Tamdeen Youth Foundation, welcomed and introduced the initiative and highlighted the level of achievement in the 2022 plan. Members then provided updates on their interventions. The next year plan was presented and discussed with the localisation initiative members.

Eman Ismail from the International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA) presented an overview of the localization baseline report, which provided valuable insight into the progress of localisation in Yemen. Wameed Shaker from ITAR Foundation summarized the key recommendations from the localisation baseline report.

Muna Al-Hammadi provided overview on the challenges and difficulties encountered during the implementation of the initiative plan 2022.

A group discussion was then held, where participants shared their recommendations for improving the localisation initiative in Yemen.

The meeting was a success, and localisation initiative members thanked all active members, supporters, and sponsors for their contribution to support the localisation initiative during the year 2022. The localisation initiative in Yemen is making progress, and there is hope that it will have more impact and progress and continue develop and improve in the next period."
