The co-conveners of the Enhanced Quality Funding Workstream are organising the:
Progress Acceleration Workshop:
Enhanced Quality Funding through Reduced Earmarking, Multi-Year Planning and Funding
Thursday, September 19th, 2019
9:00 to 17:30
Geneva (Location TBC)
This workshop will be co-hosted by Canada, UNICEF, Sweden, OCHA, ICRC, and NRC. The main objectives of this workshop will be to come to a common understanding of the currently available data on quality funding (unearmarking and multi-year) and planning and obtain agreement on reporting methodology going forward to ensure consistent data; validate existing evidence on the benefits of quality funding, identify evidence gaps, and a way forward to address potential gaps; gain a better understanding of the barriers and opportunities to provide higher levels of quality funding and planning and for first level recipients to cascade down this type of funding to its implementing partners; and identify a concrete set of actions and bottlenecks that will require political-level engagement and solutions. The outcomes of this workshop are expected to provide the basis for subsequent substantive discussions at Sherpa-level and with the Eminent Person to address political-level challenges.
Please direct any concerns or questions you may have to Camille Pabalan from Global Affairs Canada at Camille.Pabalan@international.gc.ca and Cecilia Roselli from NRC at cecilia.roselli@nrc.no.
IMPORTANT: Attendance by invitation only.
