Role of Consultancies in Humanitarian Aid
New York
Today we are going to talk about the Role of Consultancies in Humanitarian Aid. We have two seasoned facilitators with us today from the Global Public Policy Institute.
GPPi is a think-tank based in Berlin that focuses on effective and accountable public governance. This is applied to the field of Humanitarian Assistance for today’s session.
Associate Director Julia Steets and Project Manager Andrea Binder are going to introduce a case and talk about a problem that the humanitarian relief workers struggled with. You, members of the audience, will then come up with a solution.
Depending on the speed of the discussion, we can ‘solve’ several cases including:
the Cluster Evaluation Phase II review that GPPi has done for the IASC
the Haiti Real Time Evaluation
EU-US cooperation in food assistance
new and emerging humanitarian donors
I trust you will find this hands-on experience with project management and evaluation both interesting and stimulating.
