new signatoryFollowing a successful application, the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) is the newest, 66th Signatory to the Grand Bargain.

The Grand Bargain now includes 66 Signatories (25 states, 11 UN Agencies, 5 inter-governmental organizations and Red Cross/Red Crescent Movements and 25 NGOs).

The Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) believes in creating a hemisphere of opportunity, for all. Headquartered in Washington, DC, they have worked across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) for the past 60 years to make the region stronger—more healthy, peaceful, just, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable for current and future generations. PADF has an extensive humanitarian assistance portfolio, primarily funded by the US government (PRM/BHA) and with some funding from UNHCR and the private sector. Through their humanitarian work, they have demonstrated their commitment to the principles of the Grand Bargain, especially as it pertains to localization. In fact, 43 percent of their 2022 humanitarian funding went directly to local partners.

To officially signal their commitment to the principles of the Grand Bargain and with a firm belief that the humanitarian system can be reformed to better serve affected communities, foster greater transparency and accountability, and increase the power and resources of local actors, PADF is happy to become a Signatory. As a Signatory, they commit to: documenting strategies that they have used to reduce the barriers to partnering with local partners and to support other humanitarian actors in doing the same; working towards identifying strategies to increase multi-year, collaborative and flexible planning and funding, and ensuring that these are applied to their local implementing partners; and working towards expanding cash-based programming across their humanitarian programs, when feasible, by investing in new delivery models that can be increased in scale, while identifying best practices and mitigating risks in each context. PADF look forward to engaging with other Signatories and contributing towards the goals of the Grand Bargain.
