Please find below a summary of reflections from the webinar on Participation in Practice in early 2020 by Co-convenors of workstream 6 (A participation revolution: include people receiving aid in making the decisions which affect their lives).

This Inter-Agency Humanitarian Evaluation (IAHE) offers an independent assessment of the collective humanitarian response to Cyclone Idai in Mozambique in 2019. It is the first to assess the contribution of the new Scale-Up activation mechanism since its adoption by the IASC in 2018 and suggest further improvements to this important IASC tool. It is only the second IAHE that utilizes a representative survey of affected populations.

This document provides an overview of the factors that may put persons with disabilities at heightened risk in the COVID-19 pandemic and response in humanitarian settings; and proposes actions to address these risks. This note draws on the IASC Guidelines on the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action, applying these to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While the Coronavirus pandemic means that the Co-convenors of the workstream 3 (Increase the use and coordination of cash-based programming) are unable to hold the annual Grand Bargain cash workstream workshop in person this year, they are still keen to keep up the momentum and harness all the great work the Signatories have been doing to deliver in our shared commitment to increase the use and coordination of humanitarian cash assistance.
